Fading Politics

Fading politics is a study of the photographic portraits used as political propaganda on electoral campaign posters from the local elections in Spain in May 2011.
Since these posters were went up, the photographs have slowly lost their original properties and the paper has degraded suggesting a parallel between the images and the messages sent out by them during the campaign. The gestures and faces of these candidates running for mayor are transformed through exposure to the elements and the passing of time, and become open to a new interpretation.
